I'm sorry I haven't written in a long time
I'm sorry for not writing for so long
Sorry I haven't written for a while
I'm sorry it's been a while since I've written
Forgive me for not writing in such a long time
I'm sorry it's taken me so long to write again
Sorry for taking forever to write again

I was in Chicago
I went to Chicago
I was off in Chicago
I was away in Chicago
I was on a trip to Chicago
I had gone on a trip to Chicago
I had gone out of town to Chicago

"I'm sorry for not writing for such a long time. I was away on a trip to Chicago!"

...真的。

Wish & Hope

”我希望你在這裡“  "I hope you were here" 或者 "I hope you are here" ...

Wish = 希望,願望,但願, 祝願,心願。。。
Hope = 希望,盼望,期許, 企及。。。

Wish"?
-  “I wish I could fly."
- "I wish I could go to the moon some day."
-  "I wish I could have known my great-great grandfather."
Hope"?
-  "I hope I will be able to go to her birthday party."
-  "I hope a cure for cancer will be found someday."
Examples
     [x] - I wish you have a good time.
     [] - I hope you have a good time.

[] - We wish you were coming.
[x] - We hope you were coming.

Besides "Long time no see!", what else can you write?
"Long time no see!"

A long time has passed                   (time's)
It has been too long                           (It's)

Expenses, Expensive...

Expenses, Expensive...

*Expense(s) = 費用

Expensive = 很貴

"If we increase our expenses, we will have to increase our prices too and then our product will be too expensive."

Mail? Letter ? Email?

"Thank you for your mail."

有多人很自然會認為 "Thank you for your mail."

Thank you for your email."
Thank you for your letter."

Meet vs. See

Nice to meet you!“] .......

晚上寫了一個 email 跟顧客說 "It was nice to meet you again!"] .......

"Nice to see you!"
"Nice to see you again."
"It was nice to see you again."
"It was nice seeing you again."
"It was a pleasure to see you again."
"It was good to meet up with you again."
"It was nice running into you again." [<--- 或 "to run into" = 突然碰到. 也可以用 "bumping into" 或 "to bump into"]

Introduction

Hello Everyone!
I am a Chinese-language loving American.
I was formerly an English teacher in Taiwan and have now returned to America to further my education.
I wanted to start this blog in hope of helping Chinese-speaking business people (or anyone else) to overcome vocabulary and grammar issues in their English communications. I hope to use both English AND Chinese whenever possible to make my explanations more clear and useful.
Please pardon my limited Chinese and my mistakes, and take comfort that my English doesn't have the same problems!

If you have any questions, feel free to ask them here! This way, not only will you be helping yourself avoid misunderstandings, you'll be helping others to gain useful tips for future reference!
